چکیده

(2008) The CO2 'trade balance' between Scotland and the rest of the UK: Performing a multi-region environmental input-output analysis with limited data, Ecological Economics, 66 (4), pp. 662-673. Changes resulting from the publishing process, such as peer review, editing, corrections, structural formatting, and other quality control mechanisms may not be reflected in this document. Changes may have been made to this work since it was submitted for publication. A definitive version was subsequently published in Ecological Economic Policy Network (Scotecon). The authors are grateful to two anonymous referees for their constructive criticisms of two earlier drafts of this paper. Abstract In this paper we attempt an empirical application of the multi-region input-output (MRIO) method proposed by Turner, Lenzen, Wiedmann and Barrett (2007) in a recent issue of this journal in order to enumerate the CO2 pollution content of interregional trade flows between Scotland and the rest of the UK (RUK). We extend the analysis to account for direct emissions generation by households, as final consumers, and to a social accounting matrix (SAM), where a more comprehensive account of incomes and expenditures is possible. While the existence of significant data problems mean that the quantitative results of this study should be regarded as provisional, the interregional economy-environment IO and SAM framework for Scotland and RUK allows an illustrative analysis of some very important issues in terms of the nature and significance of interregional environmental spillovers within the UK and the existence of a CO2 'trade balance' between Scotland and RUK.

Calculation of three-regions input-output coefficients, hybrid Location Quotient - Gravity Method, (Case Study: oil-rich regions, Tehran Province, and the rest national economies)

Regional policy requires the use of a suitable economic model. One of the common patterns in this field is the multi-region input-output model in which the national economy is subdivided into regions with different comparative advantages and on the basis of specific policies. Multi-regional input-output data preparation in Iran has always been one of the main challenges in using them to measure...

An Analysis of Economic Implications of the UK Leaving the EU

W hether the United Kingdom (UK) should remain in the European Union (EU) or not has been a fiercely debated issue both before and after the referendum in the UK on June 23, 2016. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the pros and cons of the UK leaving the EU. It is concluded that if the UK leaves the EU, the resulting economic shock would risk adverse effects on macroecono...

Modeling of Pressure Dependence of Interfacial Tension Behaviors of Supercritical CO2 + Crude Oil Systems Using a Basic Parachor Expression

Parachor based expressions (basic and mechanistic) are often used to model the experimentally observed pressure dependence of interfacial tension (IFT) behaviors of complex supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) and crude oil mixtures at elevated temperatures. However, such modeling requires various input data (e.g. compositions and densities of the equilibrium liquid and vapor phases, and molec...

One way to achieve economic growth is to invest in leading sectors. In addition, economic sectors can stimulate economic growth in other regions through the effects of spillover and feedback on their output. The purpose of this study is to identify the leading sectors, the effects of spillover and feedback on Oil-rich region. For this purpose, the two-region input-output table of Iranchr('39')s...
